Proofpoint, Slack, Tanium, AppDynamics, Palo Alto Networks, Nvidia and Kyndryl were among the tech companies making key executive hires during November 2023.
New CEOs of Proofpoint and Slack. A new channel chief at Tanium. And a new chief marketing officer for Cisco subsidiary AppDynamics.
Sumit Dhawan, formerly of VMware; Denise Holland Dresser, formerly with Slack parent Salesforce; Tony Beller, formerly of Cloud Software Group; and Julie Gibbs, formerly of Netenrich, are just some of the executives hired last month.

November Tech Exec Moves
Palo Alto Networks, Nvidia and Kyndryl were among the other tech giants to make executive hires during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.
Those executives were:
*Muna Khurshid, formerly of VMware
*Eric Chung, formerly of Microsoft
*Mo Dastagir, formerly of Fortium Partners
All the hiring comes despite multiple tech giants cutting their employee rosters amid growing inflation, the possibility of a recession in the near future and tightening IT budgets after high demand for technology during the height of the pandemic.

Sumit Dhawan
Sumit Dhawan became CEO of Proofpoint in November.
Dhawan joined the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based security vendor shortly after the close of Broadcom’s $61 billion acquisition of VMware. Dhawan served as president of VMware for more than two years.
He worked at VMware for more than seven years on and off during his career, according to his LinkedIn account. He left his role as senior vice president and general manager in 2018 to lead Instart as CEO.
Akamai acquired Instart in 2020 and Dhawan returned to VMware.
Denise Holland Dresser
Denise Holland Dresser became the new CEO of Salesforce subsidiary Slack in November.
Dresser has been with Salesforce, the San Francisco-based customer relationship management (CRM) software vendor, for about 12 years, according to her LinkedIn account.
Salesforce has more than 11,000 partners, according to the vendor.
Muna Khurshid
Muna Khurshid joined Palo Alto Networks in November as vice president of solution engineering for strategic accounts, according to her LinkedIn account.
Khurshid came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based security vendor after more than two years with VMware, according to her LinkedIn account. She left VMware with the title of global vice president of networking and security sales.
Her resume includes about four years with NTT. She left the company in 2021 with the title of vice president of go-to-market (GTM) solution architecture
Palo Alto Networks has about 10,000 channel partners worldwide and about 1,200 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Eric Chung
Eric Chung joined Nvidia in November as vice president of AI computing, according to his LinkedIn account.
Chung joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker after more than 11 years with Microsoft, according to his LinkedIn account.
In his last year with Microsoft, he co-founded and led an initiative that “spearheaded the open-source release and ecosystem of narrow-precision AI data types developed and evolved since 2016, and was incorporated into Microsoft’s first-gen AI silicon, Maia 100,” according to his LinkedIn account.
“We partnered successfully with six major industry partners (Nvidia, AMD, ARM, Qualcomm, Intel, and Meta) to agree and finalize on the specification, released through OCP in October 2023,” according to his LinkedIn account.
Nvidia has about 1,500 worldwide channel partners and about 400 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Julie Gibbs
Julie Gibbs became chief marketing officer of Cisco subsidiary AppDynamics in November, according to her LinkedIn account.
Gibbs came to the San Francisco-based observability vendor after about two years with Netenrich, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Netenrich with the title of CMO.
Her resume includes about a year with Troops as CMO. She left the company in 2021.
Antoinette Faggion
In November, Antoinette Faggion returned to SAP, taking on the role of chief operating officer of its customer success services for SAP Business Network, according to her LinkedIn account.
Faggion came to the Germany-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) software vendor after more than a year with Icertis, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Icertis with the title of vice president of strategy, operations and transformation.
She previously spent more than eight years on and off with SAP and Ariba, which SAP bought in 2012. She most recently left SAP Ariba in 2020 as head of global operations for procurement services.
Tony Beller
Tony Beller became channel chief and senior vice president of global partner sales at Tanium this month.
Beller came to the Kirkland, Wash.-based security vendor after about five years with Cloud Software Group and Tibco, according to his LinkedIn account. CSG was created from the 2022 merger of Tibco and Citrix.
His resume includes about two years with Anaplan. He left the company in 2020 with the title of vice president of worldwide strategy and alliances and MSP sales.
Anthony Kim
Anthony Kim joined CACI in November, taking on the role of vice president of government compliance, according to his LinkedIn account.
Kim came to the Reston, Va.-based company – No. 20 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than nine years with Capital Edge Consulting, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Capital Edge with the title of managing director.
His resume includes more than a year with BDO. Kim left BDO in 2014 with the title of director.
Mo Dastagir
Mo Dastagir joined Kyndryl as vice president and deputy chief product officer, according to his LinkedIn account.
Dastagir came to the New York-based company – No. 8 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after less than a year with Fortium Partners, according to his LinkedIn account.. He left Fortium with the title of partner.
His resume includes more than a year with Inotiv. He left Inotiv with the title of chief technology officer.
Monideep Chatterjee
In November, Monideep Chatterjee took on the role of senior vice president and business leader for North America at Visionet Systems, according to his LinkedIn account.
Chatterjee came to the Cranbury, N.J.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after about two years with Cyient, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Cyient with the title of leader for global sales and business development for the digital engineering unit.
His resume includes about three years with Hexaware. He left the company in 2021 with the title of vice president and head of sales for digital product engineering for North America.
Dan Prorok
In November, Hewlett Packard Enterprise hired Dan Prorok as vice president of global IT infrastructure, according to his LinkedIn account.
Prorok came to the Houston-based technology vendor after more than three years with Advanced Micro Devices, according to his LinkedIn account. He left AMD with the title of senior director of client strategy and ecosystem program management.
HPE has about 80,000 channel partners worldwide and 10,000 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Michael McDermand
Michael McDermand became vice president of partner support at Pax8 in November, according to his LinkedIn account.
McDermand joined the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based IT distributor after less than a year with Branch, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Branch with the title of interim vice president of global technical solutions.
Pax8 has about 24,000 worldwide channel partners and 20,000 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Doug Snadecki
Doug Snadecki returned to IBM last month as vice president of the financial services market in the central and southeast regions of the U.S., according to his LinkedIn account.
Snadecki joined the Armonk, N.Y.- based technology vendor after about a year with AI Bloks, according to his LinkedIn account. He left AI Bloks with the title of head of sales.
He previously worked at IBM for more than five years, leaving in 2014 with the title of director of global distribution sector for the software group.
IBM has about 55,000 worldwide channel partners, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Patrick O’Donnell
In November, Barracuda MSP hired Nick Buckland as senior vice president of worldwide sales, according to his LinkedIn account.
O’Donnell came to the Chelmsford, Mass.-based security vendor after less than a year with Cork, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Cork with the title of senior adviser to the CEO and board.
His resume includes about three years with Datto. He left Datto last year with the title of vice president of sales for North America.
Niall Johnston
HP hired Niall Johnston last month as its new chief information officer, according to his LinkedIn account.
Johnston joined the Palo Alto, Calif.-based computer hardware vendor after about eight years with General Electric, according to his LinkedIn account. He left GE with the title of senior vice president and chief information officer for strategic separation programs, supporting the separation of GE into three publicly traded companies – an effort that continues into 2024.
His resume includes about 20 years with Alstom. He left the company in 2015 with the title of vice president of information systems for the grid sector.
Alexander Stojanovic
Alexander Stojanovic returned to Microsoft in November, taking on the role of vice president of generative AI research and development (R&D), according to his LinkedIn account.
Stojanovic worked at the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant for about 17 years, leaving in 2012 with the title of general manager and partner, according to his LinkedIn account.
His resume includes about four years with Splunk. He left the company with the title of head of GenAI platform and strategic incubations.
Microsoft has about 400,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Richard Borenstein
Richard Borenstein returned to RingCentral last month, taking on the role of chief business development officer, according to his LinkedIn account.
Borenstein previously worked at the Belmont, Calif.-based communications tools vendor for about four years, leaving in 2018 with the title of senior vice president of business development, according to his LinkedIn account.
His resume includes about two years with Mural. He left the company with the title of SVP of strategic partnerships.
He also worked at Highfive for about three years, leaving the company in 2020 with the title of chief revenue officer.
RingCentral has about 15,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Michael Cremen
In November, Michael Cremen became president and chief revenue officer of SentinelOne, according to a company statement.
In this role, he “will be responsible for the planning, development and global execution of our GTM strategy as we continue to evolve our business and deliver industry-leading growth,” according to the statement.
Cremen came to the Mountain View, Calif.-based security vendor after more than two years with Elastic, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Elastic with the title of chief sales officer.
His resume includes about two years with Cohesity. He left the company in 2021 with the CRO title.
SentinelOne has 3,100 worldwide channel partners and 950 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Hemant Javeri
In November, Hemant Javeri became head of solution architecture at 2bcloud, according to a company statement.
In this role, he will help “companies on their cloud journey and cost savings, particularly in the realms of cloud adoption, data modernization, and enhancing security.”
Javeri joined the New York- and Tel Aviv-based MSP after about three years with Rackspace subsidiary Onica, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Onica with the title of head of the solution architecture team.
His resume includes about a year with 2nd Watch. He left the MSP in 2020 with the title of senior solution architect.
Kevin Tierney
Kevin Tierney joined Royal Cyber in November, taking on the title of vice president of sales for digital commerce.
Tierney came to the Naperville, Ill.-based company – No. 379 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after about two years with VTEX, according to his LinkedIn account. He left VTEX with the title of senior director of sales.
His resume includes about a year with Salesforce. He left the vendor in 2021 with the title of enterprise account executive for business-to-business (B2B) commerce, according to his LinkedIn.
John Bonapace
Data Intensity hired John Bonapace as chief revenue officer in November, according to his LinkedIn account.
Bonapace joined the Covington, Ky.-based MSP after more than three years with NTT’s Secure-24 subsidiary, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Secure-24 with the title of chief marketing officer.
His resume includes 25 years with Oracle and Sun Microsystems. Oracle bought Sun in 2010. He left Oracle in 2014 as vice president of hardware sales for the Central U.S.
Rick Ruskin
Rick Ruskin became vice president of cloud strategy and operations at Technologent last month, according to his LinkedIn account.
Ruskin came to the Irvine, Calif.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after more than three years with Effectual, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Effectual with the title of chief sales officer.
His resume includes about two years with Violin Systems. He left the company in 2019 with the title of senior vice president worldwide field operations.
Karrie Henderson
In November, UDT hired Karrie Henderson as vice president of sales for Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, according to her LinkedIn account.
Henderson came to the Miramar, Fla.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after more than eight years with Dell, according to her LinkedIn account.
Her resume includes about a year with Smarsh. She left the company in 2014 with the title of vice president of sales.
Eric Nadel
Eric Nadel is now vice president of sales at Simeio, according to his LinkedIn account.
Nadel joined the Alpharetta, Ga.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after more than a year with Thales, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of regional sales manager.

Craig Berkowitz
Genpact hired Craig Berkowitz in November, making him vice president of insurance transformation services, according to his LinkedIn account.
Berkowitz joined the New York-based solution provider after more than 10 years with Deloitte, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Deloitte with the title of senior manager.

Corey Sobkowiak
Corey Sobkowiak became vice president of real estate for the Americas and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Cognizant last month, according to his LinkedIn account.
Sobkowiak came to the Teaneck, N.J.-based company – No. 6 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after about 12 years with Genpact, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Genpact with the title of vice president of facilities digital transformation and regional sustainability leader.

Reem Gedeon joined Insight Enterprises last month, taking on the role of senior vice president and general manager of the Canada division, according to a company statement.
