‘Automation Anywhere is already a leader in automation, but they’ve just combined this with generative AI, and this is having a game-changing impact on both cost and [customer experience] for their customers,’ says Tim McDonough, Automation Anywhere CMO.
Automation Anywhere, a vendor of AI-powered process automation software, has named Intel veteran Tim McDonough as the company’s new chief marketing officer to drive global awareness of the company’s AI software.
McDonough (pictured) brings more than 20 years of experience in driving growth across multiple startups and Fortune 100 companies and spent time at Continuum and Microsoft. Most recently he was the VP and CMO of Intel’s AI and data centers. His track record of enterprise and C-suite marketing spans emerging technologies including AI tools, applications, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions and developer ecosystems.
“I’m fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in SaaS startups and Fortune 100 enterprises,” McDonough told CRN. “Those experiences taught me how to move fast and build for scale, and that’s exactly what Automation Anywhere needs. We’ll move quickly to capitalize on the opportunity at hand and take the company to a new level of strategic importance for our customers.”

McDonough said the team at San Jose, Calif. -based Automation Anywhere is “deeply committed” to using automation to enable organizations to add value “and unleash their full potential.”
“Automation Anywhere is already a leader in automation, but they’ve just combined this with generative AI and this is having a game-changing impact on both cost and [customer experience] for their customers,” he said. “I see a huge potential for marketing to unleash the potential of the company [and] it’s my job to create awareness of this new capability and help more customers accelerate their AI transformations.”
He said the company is “in a great position because once a customer understands our capabilities and uses our products, they become zealous fans. It’s my job to reach more customers and reach buyers in the C-Suite because our products have enterprise-wide benefit.
“The channel and its partners are a critical ingredient in our strategy. We already have great relationships in these spaces and I look forward to investing more here,” he added.
McDonough’s appointment comes after a recent record-breaking fourth-quarter performance at Automation Anywhere, including continued profitability and a strong outlook for its current fiscal year. In the company’s recently completed fourth fiscal quarter the company reported 50 percent growth in large enterprise deals over the third quarter, highlighting the company’s momentum and strong market position.
“Tim joins us at an incredible time in our journey as we experience a new phase of growth ignited by the transformative benefits of our generative AI process automation models that are transforming our customers’ businesses,” said Mihir Shukla, CEO of Automation Anywhere in a statement. “Tim’s impressive experience will be instrumental in our efforts to empower organizations to achieve amazing results by automating more than forty percent of workflows and tasks, and saving millions, even billions, of dollars.”
