Channel Chief Tim Coach Leaves Pia: Exclusive
- by nlqip
‘I’m very proud [that we took] leading-edge technology and brought it to the forefront of the MSPs so that they had something that actually helped them,’ Tim Coach tells CRN in an exclusive interview.
Channel chief Tim Coach has left Pia as of Monday, telling CRN in an exclusive interview he is “proud of the work” he has done at Pia and the team he built.
Coach, who was named to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chief list, joined Tampa, Fla.-based AI and automation software vendor Pia in September 2022 as its global channel chief, taking the company’s message to a broader audience. He spent much of his time on the road in the U.S. and abroad speaking on stage to MSPs about how Pia can increase productivity, save time and reduce labor costs for their business through AI and automation.

Pia earlier this year appointed Gerwai Todd as CEO. CRN has reached out to Todd for comment on the impact of Coach’s departure.
Coach told CRN that the team he built at Pia was different than other companies’ channel teams.
“I’m proud of the sheer amount of leads that we brought into the company,” he said. “And I’m very proud [that we took] leading-edge technology and brought it to the forefront of the MSPs so that they had something that actually helped them.”
As to what’s next for Coach, he said it’s yet to be seen.
“I’m having conversations right now with various companies about where they want to take their business,” he said. “I love a couple of different things; I love tech. I’m an engineer by education and trade, it just so happened that my career changed into management, into rebuilding MSPs, which then again evolved into being a channel chief. I love bringing products to the community that help them in their day-to-day life.”
Wherever he lands, he said it will be a company focused on helping solve problems for MSPs.
“It will be products, it will be solutions that help MSPs be better at what they do and how they do it,” he said.
