Multiple Vulnerabilities in Google Chrome Could Allow for Arbitrary Code Execution


Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Google Chrome, the most severe of which could allow for arbitrary code execution. Details of these vulnerabilities are as follows:

Tactic: Initial Access (TA0001):

Technique: Drive-By Compromise (T1189):

  • Out of bounds memory access in ANGLE (CVE-2024-7532)
  • Use after free in Sharing (CVE-2024-7533)
  • Type Confusion in V8 (CVE-2024-7550)
  • Heap buffer overflow in Layout (CVE-2024-7534)
  • Inappropriate implementation in V8 (CVE-2024-7535)
  • Use after free in WebAudio (CVE-2024-7536)

Successful exploitation of the most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow for arbitrary code execution in the context of the logged on user. Depending on the privileges associated with the user an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with administrative user rights.
