Cynomi Hires Tim Coach As Chief Evangelist Of Community And Channels: Exclusive
- by nlqip
‘We are an Israeli company that provides a virtual CISO platform exclusively through the channel,’ says Cynomi CEO David Primor. ‘To be successful, we needed someone who not only understands the intricacies of the channel but also has the right connections and insights to position our product effectively in the U.S. market. Tim fits that bill perfectly.’
In a significant move for the cybersecurity sector, Cynomi has tapped Tim Coach as chief evangelist for the community and channel, a move expected to bolster the company’s presence in the market and expand its reach within the MSP community.
Coach, who was named to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs list, assumes his role at the Tel Aviv, Israel-based vCISO vendor on Sept. 10.
With decades of experience in the industry and multiple leadership positions in his tenure, Coach has focused on helping MSPs grow through innovation and next-generation tools and processes. As a channel chief, he has scaled several startups to global companies and has built out entire channel teams from processes to people to solutions.
Most recently, he served as global channel chief for AI and automation vendor Pia.
“When I began evaluating different companies, I wasn’t initially focused on the security world,” Coach told CRN in an exclusive interview. “But after talking to David [Primor, Cynomi CEO] and understanding Cynomi’s story, I realized the depth of their commitment to security. They’ve put in the work, listened to their clients and invested in creating a product that stands out.”
He said that Cynomi’s success is rooted in its robust security infrastructure, which is in part due to the team’s background in Israeli military intelligence.
“The foundation of this company is in strategic intelligence and protecting against cyber threats,” he said. “It’s not just about pretty reports. It’s about providing in-depth insights and actionable steps to improve security compliance.”
In addition to representing Cynomi at industry events, Coach will be responsible for continuously improving and growing channel relationships, leading community initiatives and enhancing the global partner experience.
“When I met Tim, it was clear that he would be a game-changer for us,” Primor told CRN. “His experience and connections will help us refine our product and ensure it meets the specific needs of MSPs and MSSPs.”
He called Coach a respected figure in the MSP world with a proven track record of building successful MSP operations and understanding the needs of the channel.
“We are an Israeli company that provides a virtual CISO platform exclusively through the channel,” he said. “To be successful, we needed someone who not only understands the intricacies of the channel but also has the right connections and insights to position our product effectively in the U.S. market. Tim fits that bill perfectly.”
Cynomi has about 55 employees and saw 4.5x growth last year.
“Our goal is to achieve at least 3x growth this year,” the CEO said. “With Tim’s involvement, we expect to see a significant boost in leads and market traction. His ability to articulate our value proposition will be instrumental in driving this growth.”
One of Coach’s key initiatives will be enhancing relationships with existing partners and attracting new ones. Drawing from his experience in the MSP sector, he plans to focus on simplifying cybersecurity compliance.
He said businesses struggle with understanding their security frameworks and where they stand. Cynomi offers a detailed roadmap, not just a report, that provides actionable steps to help companies meet their compliance goals more effectively.
“The cybersecurity landscape is flooded with new products and solutions,” he said. “Cynomi isn’t just adding another widget to the mix. We’re offering comprehensive reporting and actionable insights to ensure that MSPs and their clients achieve the highest levels of security.”
Going forward, his message is clear: Cynomi is “ready and eager” to support MSPs.
“We’re here to make the process easier, more efficient and more effective,” he said. “Our goal is to be a true partner in your growth and success.”
