New Oracle Database On Google Cloud
Google Cloud and Oracle unveiled a massive partnership this month by launching Oracle Database@Google Cloud regions across the U.S. and Europe.
For the first time, customers can now run Oracle Exadata Database Service, Oracle Autonomous Database, and Oracle Database Zero Data Loss Autonomous Recovery Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in Google Cloud data centers.
Oracle Database@Google Cloud enables businesses to easily create new cloud applications using Oracle Database or migrate their existing Oracle databases and applications to OCI running in Google Cloud with simplified cloud purchasing and management.
Additionally, customers get direct access to Oracle Database services running on OCI and deployed in Google Cloud data centers. Customers can also run applications on Oracle Linux, which is now supported by Oracle on Google Cloud.
Database@Google Cloud is currently available in regions includes U.S. East (Ashburn), U.S. West (Salt Lake City), U.K. South (London), and Germany Central (Frankfurt). The offerings will expand to more regions across the world.
BigQuery New Integration With Anthropic Claude On Vertex AI
Google Cloud’s flagship data platform BigQuery has a new integration with Anthropic’s Claude models on Vertex AI which connects a customers’ data in BigQuery with the AI capabilities of Claude models.
Google customers now have access to Claude models that offer advanced generative AI capabilities through BigQuery ML. BigQuery ML simplifies the application of machine learning to data within BigQuery, making it accessible to analysts and SQL users.
This integration enables tasks such as text generation, summarization, translation, and more, to be performed directly on a user’s data.
New use cases for partners include analyzing log data for enhanced security, document summarization, and marketing optimization.
Google Distributed Cloud Provider Partner Program
Google Cloud recently launched its new Managed GDC Provider initiative. The Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) partner program simplifies the deployment of solutions in various environments by authorizing and empowering select partners to deploy, operate, and manage DGC services as a fully managed offering.
The managed GDC program helps customers harness Google Cloud technology within a private, secure, and isolated environment operated by trusted local partners. The approach provides numerous advantages, including full control over data residency and adherence to local regulations, helping to ensure data sovereignty and compliance.
Current partners operating GDC include World Wide Technology and Clarence.
Partners’ air-gapped configurations and expert management enhance security and control, while the flexibility of the program allows for tailored solutions to meet specific needs and requirements.
The goal is to reduce the technical complexity of deploying cloud services for customers with high sovereignty needs to accelerate adoption.
