Safer Internet Day 2021 — Between The Hacks
- by nlqip
Tuesday, February 9th, 2021, marks the 18th edition of Safer Internet Day. This year’s theme is, “Together for a better Internet.”
Safer Internet Day (SID) started as an EU SafeBorders project in 2004 and is now celebrated in approximately 170 countries worldwide. Each February, “SID promotes the safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among children and young people. Celebrated on the second day of the second week of the second month, each year on Safer Internet Day millions of people unite to inspire positive changes online, to raise awareness of online safety issues, and participate in events and activities right across the globe.” according to the SID website.
If you are a parent, teacher, or online content developer, you may want to check out the SID Best Practices guide, named Better Internet for Kids.
You can find out more about Safer Internet Day at www.saferinternetday.org, including links to campaign activities in your own country, or stay up to date via the SID social media profiles on Facebook and Twitter.
