With its acquisition of Locuz, slated to close during the third quarter, SHI gains an 800-person team with extensive experience in CloudOps, SecOps, HPCOps, AIOps, and insight as a service.
Global IT solution provider SHI International Monday said it plans to acquire India-based Locuz Enterprise Solutions, a provider of cybersecurity and digital transformation services.
With the acquisition, slated to close during the third quarter, Somerset, N.J.-based SHI expects to gain over 800 new employees, along with a fully managed NOC (network operation center) and SOC (security operations center).
Locuz, founded in 1999, provides offerings around CloudOps, SecOps, HPCOps, AIOps, and insight as a service.

SHI, ranked No. 14 in CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500, did not disclose the value of the acquisition. The deal is expected to close by September.
SHI, responding to a CRN request for more information, said it is not providing any other information for the time being.
Thai Lee, president and CEO of SHI, said in a prepared statement that her company’s Locuz acquisition goes beyond a strategic expansion.
“It is a direct investment in our customers’ success,” Lee said. “The addition of Locuz will be a key component of our mission to deliver comprehensive solutions that address the complex needs of our customers globally. Customers can expect to benefit materially from our combined advanced service capabilities.”
SHI, founded in 1989, has made multiple acquisitions starting with Microsoft services provider Eastridge, which it acquired in 2016.
The following year, SHI acquired eTelligent Solutions, which produced a cloud-based TAM (technology asset management) platform, and followed that a year later with its acquisition of Corporate Training Group, a long-term partner which provided SHI and others training for IT professional, end users, and business users.
In addition to those, Stratascale, an SHI cybersecurity consultancy subsidiary founded in 2020, has made at least two acquisitions. Stratascale in March acquired Moot, a cybersecurity firm that provided automated security solutions to help customers optimize the potential value of existing IT assets. That organization late last year also acquired attack surface management provider Vector0
